blueberries, black raspberries, squash, lettuce, some crazy swiss thing that (cooks like spinach) and looks totally gorgeous, button squash, broccoli, and a musk melon all for less than twenty five bucks! and all insanely fresh.

good news:
i'm slowly but surely accumulating music onto my ipod [i lost 27 gigs when it crapped out and i had to get a new one...and no, i didn't have it 'backed up' anywhere. sad face]
starting to move out of my apartment today. THANK GOD
my fat idiot roommate saw me naked this morning [ahahahahahahahaha, yeah, that's good news]

i can't remember the last night i wasn't laying awake in bed past one, when i have class the next morning, and they weren't being super fucking loud with their horrible stupid drunk friends.

so the first twenty minutes of my day were crappy. woke up suddenly, not knowing what time it was, and jumped out of bed to see it was 8:45...mike and i had both slept through my alarm and had class at 9. oops. so we raced around and [surprisingly] were dressed, fed, and out the door in ten minutes.
luckily, this is the ONLY class i actually enjoy this semester...my fine art digital media class that happens to be with my favorite teacher. so i'm sitting in class all droopy-eyed and i look into this purse i haven't used in a while only to find-- my favorite sunglasses i thought had permanently disappeared!
i was so excited.
the bad news is, i have like 124916824 hours of homework in order to catch up/finish up with school.

my favorite teacher is having a solo show, and this friday is the opening. wine and good art for those who attend. check out her paintings at michellewasson.com. she's a great painter and an awesome lady to boot. if you're in the area you should go!

Linda Warren Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Out of Xanadu, Michelle Wassons first solo exhibition at the gallery. Using both the language and aesthetic of graphic animation and digital design, Wasson takes us on a journey through a cyber-paradise where utopic dwellings and images of Mother Nature bubble with polychromatic, hallucinatory appeal. In cahoots with Wassons own personal quest to understand the psychology behind the off the grid lifestyle are her laborious painting techniques. Images, dutifully conceived in Photoshop are translated in acrylic paint to evoke the infra-thin, groomed territory of the digital. In this manner the form of her work mimics the content, made especially clear in the paintings Xanadu and Rizadu where the artist preserves the form of Xanadu: The House of the Future at the center of sanguine fantasy landscapes. |
